The monitor's siren sounds automatically whenever there's an alert for your area, weather-related or otherwise. It also displays a visual warning signal. Although designed for portability, the monitor comes with a stand, so you can place it on a desk or nightstand. Refrain from testing the siren to entertain friends and relatives when they attempt to spend the night at your house. No slacking now-that's a 100 DB siren and slacking is clearly not permitted!
